Key Stage 4

All students in Years 10 and 11 receive 1 hour 40 mins of PE per week. This consists of 1 double lesson. During this time, in Year 10, a variety of activities are undertaken including Association Football, Badminton, Basketball, Health Related Fitness, Rugby, Table Tennis in the winter months. Summer term activities include Athletics and Softball.

During Year 11 an options programme has been devised to allow the pupils a wider variety of choice during there PE lessons. Some of the off-site activities have included; Golf, Ten-Pin Bowling and Football at Goals in New Malden. A variety on-site activities are also provided as well such as; Badminton, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis and use of the Weights Room.

ASSESSMENT

At Key Stage 4 pupils are assessed under the 4 following standards:

1	Acquiring and Developing skills.	Develop more advanced skills. Using these in more demanding activities.
2	Selecting and Applying skills, tactics and compositional ideas.	Plan and use advanced strategies. Use rules more confidently than in KS3.
3	Evaluating and Improving Performance	Give reason for your choice of role in different activities. Judge how successful a performer is and give feedback. Develop Leadership skills.
4	Knowledge and Understanding of Fitness and Health	Design and carry out a training programme for a specific activity of your choice. Monitor your progress in and out of school time. Decide what the role of physical activity, and its' importance in your life, will be.

PE KIT

All students are required to wear the correct Coombe Boys’ PE kit for all lessons. For indoor lessons, this includes; the green polo shirt with the Coombe logo or white T-shirt, black shorts, black rugby socks and trainers, see below. For outdoor lessons the boys will require the black reversible rugby top, black shorts, black rugby socks and either football boots or trainers depending on the weather and condition of the grounds, see below.

There is also available, the optional Coombe tracksuit consisting of black tracksuit bottoms and jacket with the Coombe logo on the jacket.
