Coombe Boys’ Parents and Friends Association – working together achieving success
The Coombe Boys’ School Parents and Friends Association (PFA) was created to promote and support the school and to raise funds for additional equipment needed by the school in consultation with staff and the student council.
We would like to invite all parents to join the PFA and participate in its events, which include such things as our very popular Quiz Nights, providing refreshments at open evenings and new parents open days, drama productions and many other school events. Or you may prefer helping plan and run our annual shopping evening or our successful stall at the New Malden fortnight in July. We took first prize in 2009, 2006 and 2004 for the best decorated stall, were runners up in 2008 and 2005.
PFA funds have been used to provide new bike sheds, benches in the quiet area, an induction loop and wheelchair ramp in the sports hall, basket ball equipment, specialist lighting for the new Barton Hall which hosts plays and events, as well as funding refreshments for many school celebrations. We are striving to raise money to supply a complete kit for our boys, who are going abroad for a football competition next year, to complete the lighting in the Barton Hall for the drama productions and for some new goal posts and benches. As we have our work cut out for us, any help would be welcomed.
Coombe Boys’ School PFA makes an invaluable contribution to the running of the school and we encourage all the boys and their parents to get involved. We value all suggestions and offers of help from parents and friends and if you feel you would like to help in any way please contact the school office direct or contact our Chair, Mary Nice via email at marynice12@hotmail.com or by mobile on 07970 796844 with any ideas and any donations. Thank you.
