Coombes Boys School

Gala Showcase - Rose Theatre 26th January

On Wednesday 26th January, over 50 Coombe Boy’s students from all years stood nervously in the wings of the Rose Theatre, Kingston, for the Coombe Boys’ School Gala Showcase. There were many talented students taking part from musicians, singers, musical theatre and drama performers. They had an excited audience waiting for what was going to be an amazing evening of entertainment. Joe Hately and Alex Rodway-Brown did a great job of compering the evening and kept the audience entertained in between the acts. Two musical items from the year 9 and 10 band started the evening off, followed by Emmanuel Simango who wowed the audience by singing …….

The final two performances of the first half kept the audience in anticipation for the second act. Year 7 and 8 Drama Club’s performance of Roald Dahl’s “Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf” was a success and the final three musical theatre numbers finished the first half with a standard that was surely hard to beat.  But the Julius Caesar cast met that standard and continued the second half of the evening as good as the first. It was great to see the Rose Theatre full of friends and family of the cast and hearing their comments after the evening demonstrated the talent we have at Coombe Boys’ School.
