Coombe Alumni Visit - May 2017
It is always a pleasure to welcome back past students, no matter how long it has been since they left Coombe Boys' School. Recently we welcomed back Mr Smallbone who left us in 1965, after leaving school he went onto a career in motorcycle racing. It was a pleasure to take Mr Smallbone on a tour around the school and the new buildings that have opened.
He said, "It was most interesting and informative to see how the school has developed since I left in 1965. It made me smile to look through the old punishment book and find names from my class 3G." Mr Smallbone continued to inform me that one of those names he remembers went on to run his own business, successfully making and installing very ornate wrought iron gates.
He is now living in America and working on a replica of a Triumph Production racer that he used to race (see picture).
We wish Mr Smallbone all the best in America and continue to look forward to welcoming back any past students of Coombe Boys' School or Beverly Boys'.
