Fulham YTS at Coombe Boys' School

On Thursday January 19th visiting players from the Fulham Under Eighteen Youth Training Scheme will be leading a football workshop at Coombe Boys’ School. Four coaching sessions focusing on different key skills will operate simultaneously on the school playing field. The whole of the new Year Seven cohort will participate in the coaching sessions aimed to develop their football skills and team work skills on and off the pitch. The sessions will run for one hour from 9am until 10 am; they will be the first in a series of workshops where the Coombe boys will benefit from the Sixth Form Vocational Centre’s strong links with the YTS programme.

Physical Education continues to be a highly successful area of the boys’ school’s diverse curriculum with an impressive track record of games being won in all year groups. With the national school focus on healthy eating and encouraging teenagers to become more physically active this scheme will benefit everybody involved.

The YTS programme is run by Fulham’s Community Sports Trust which aims to deliver community development programmes through sport. The three main objectives of the Trust are:
- To promote community participation in healthy recreation.
- To provide and assist in providing facilities for sport and recreation to young people regardless of their youth, age, infirmity, disablement, poverty, social or economic circumstances.
- To advance the education of children and young people.
