Coombe Cluster Concert Celebration

Malden and Coombe Cluster Concert Celebrations

As part of the Malden and Coombe Partnership, pupils from Coombe Boys’ School and Coombe Girls’ School proudly hosted and performed in the Malden and Coombe Cluster Concert 2013, held at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.

The concert, featuring over eight local primary schools, showcased a fabulous line up of music, dance and drama with confident performances from all pupils taking part.  The energy and dedication of each performance delivered an engaging concert to the auditorium prompting an enthusiastic response from the audience.

In addition to local primary school performances, Coombe Girls’ School provided a beautiful ‘Pretty Pirouettes’ dance routine, encompassing a mix of ballet and modern dance.  The concert drew to a close as students from Coombe Boys’ School performed a gripping extract from their latest theatre production, Julius Caesar, which has recently received rave reviews following its launch at the Secombe Theatre, Sutton as part of the 2012 Shakespeare Schools Festival.

Head of Drama at Coombe Boys’ School, Miss O’Reilly commented, “We are delighted to present the Malden and Coombe Cluster Concert 2013 and to be in our fourth year working in partnership with local primary schools.  Coombe Secondary Schools are once again extremely proud of the hard work and commitment from all involved in order to create such a great event.  We have witnessed fantastic performance talent here today across a wide range of acts.  Of course, we are also very grateful and privileged to be able to present the concert at the Rose Theatre which provides the pupils with such a valuable learning experience.”
