Coombes Boys School

Welcome to our new Headteacher

Coombe Boys' welcomes its new Headteacher

David has left Coombe Girls' school where he has worked as Deputy Headteacher for the past 12 years and prior to that worked at an all boys' school in Merton. David commented, “It is an enormous privilege to be appointed Headteacher designate for Coombe Boys' School. I look forward to working closely with Mrs Walls, who will become the Executive Headteacher, to provide the very best support for the students at the school. The school has made enormous progress in recent years and I have been inspired by the students and staff that I have worked with at Coombe Boys' School to take on this new role and to build upon the firm foundations that have been established."

Upon commencing the role, David is committed to the Coombe ethos of ’preparing you for a world of opportunity' and remarked, “I believe that education for all young people should be a challenging, inspirational and transformational experience. It should recognise the potential of every learner and provide a structure for every learner to achieve this. Outstanding pastoral care and excellent teaching combined with a culture of mutual respect and trust will create a fertile environment for the development of new interests, skills and experiences. It is essential that Coombe students are taught to develop themselves as people as well as achieving the best examination results and that they are fully prepared to take advantage of an ever changing global economy."

David is looking forward to getting to know pupils and parents in the coming months and to develop a supportive partnership that will enable pupils to achieve their very best.
