Coombes Boys School

Rotary Young Chef Competition

This year two of our Coombe boy pupils took part in the Rotary young chef competition for the first time. Year 10 pupils, Chang Hwan Yu and Luke Danablan showcased their culinary skills amongst other young competitors from schools within the borough of Kingston. Contestants prepared and presented a three course meal with a pre-set budget and time limit which was judged by an expert panel. Chang and Luke were both runners up in the first round of the competition, which took place on Saturday 14th November 2016, at Southborough School. On the day, Miss Besidone, Head of Food and Nutrition who accompanied them said, “They were extremely professional and represented one of the many talents students have to offer at Coombe Boys’ School. I am very proud to have them both as my students.” Both Chang and Luke also shared their thoughts about the competition saying they enjoyed the experience.
