GCSE Music pupils get "Wicked"
GCSE Music pupils were treated to a trip to see Wicked! The most memorable song in the show ‘Defying Gravity’ is a GCSE set work that the pupils have been studying and it was brilliant to see their faces as the drama unfolded and the spectacular set design and choreography made the show come alive. The following week the conductor came to visit the school to unpick the music and give an insider’s view on the workings of the show. It was an excellent opportunity for the boys to ask honest questions and to be inspired to perhaps be a conductor in the future!
Performing Arts pupils from Year 9-13 went to see ‘Showstoppers’ the improvised musical in the west end. The show is made up on the night entirely from audience suggestions. Our jaws dropped as they wove popular topics seamlessly into a narrative and harmonised songs effortlessly. It was a great night full of laughs and very clever comedy; an excellent evening of entertainment!
