Year 8 boys take on one tenner of a challenge
For the first time at Coombe Boys School, a number of year 8 boys have the chance to engage in a national completion designed by Young Enterprise, the UK’s leading charity that empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills. The task is a simple one: in teams of no more than five, they must turn a £10 loan into as much profit as possible in just 4 weeks. They will be competing against each other and against schools all over the country. On Thursday 9th February, Young Enterprise came to CBS to run a master class in what makes a successful business and to help the boys think of their exciting new business ideas. It was brilliant to witness the entrepreneurial flair and team working skills that our year 8 boys possess. From the 27th February to the 24th March, the boys will be busy buying, making, marketing and selling their products and services – please support them however you can!
