Coombe Boys’ School Ofsted Inspection:
6th march 2018
Inspection outcome: ‘Outstanding’ for Leadership and Management and ‘Good’ in ‘Achievement of Pupils’, the ‘Quality of Teaching’ and the ‘Behaviour and Safety of Pupils’. The overall inspection rating for Coombe Boys’ School is ‘Good’.
Coombe Boys’ School were visited by an Ofsted inspection team earlier this month for a short inspection of one day. The school has maintained its “Good” judgement and although it was a brief, one-day inspection we felt that the school’s strengths were recognised and praised.
The letter confirms that the school continues to be judged as “Outstanding” for Leadership and Management and “Good” for all the other categories.
I would like to thank parents, carers, governors and students for their positive input, which was recognised and mentioned at several points during the day as well as in the letter.

The report notes that
Teaching...arouses pupils' curiosity and leads to high levels of engagement.
Pupils are courteous and respectful. They show considerable pride for their school and endorse the high standards of behaviour you expect.
Warm positive relationships have created a supportive environment in which pupils feel confident to ask questions and push themselves further.
...The school has provided an enriching range of opportunities. This has the effect of raising aspirations and increasing pupils' enjoyment of school.
Inspectors found that the highly cohesive, harmonious and inclusive community referred to in the last inspection was still very much evident.
