We were honoured to welcome the @rbkmayor and Paul Seymour from local charity @kingstonkcah to school this afternoon to meet with student representatives from each Year 8 tutor group to celebrate their amazing effort in collecting items to make up 'Boxes of Support' for local homeless people. Well done to the whole of Year 8 supporting this project.⠀ ⠀ #CoomeUnity #CBSYr8⠀
⠀ 📢 And the winner of the 'Design The Official CBS Christmas Card Competition 2025' is Danny Beecheno in Year 10. Mr Smith commented that the standard was very high this year, and it was a difficult decision, but Danny's design stood out for him due to it's festive feel and clever use of watercolour tecniques. It's time for #BOTW⠀ ⠀ KS3 Running My Own Race by @lookingup_ab ⠀ Our Year 7 book group were invited to review this book on behalf of publishers @nosycrow and were unanimous in their decision that is was a fantastic read and they want "everyone to read it!". Kofi dreams of becoming a professional athlete but he is burdened by the pressure to succeed academically. This is a story of the power of good teachers, believing in yourself, overcoming adversity and the importance of restorative justice. We can't wait for the author's next book!⠀ ⠀ KS4 Live by @lukethepalmer ⠀ Older readers at Coombe are big fans of Luke Palmer and his latest book does not disappoint. A book about friendship, heartbreak, grief and tackling issues teenagers face with a raw and candid voice and the importance of the power of music. Hard hitting but full of heart.

As today, 1st December marks the start of advent it seems the perfect time to share a 👀 inside the rehearsal room for our upcoming Carols by Candlelight Concert at the beautiful St James’ Church. Our choir have been working hard and Christmas is officially on its way! 🎄 🎭
Following on from our post last week, our Year 9 Art students have really impressed us with their 'Food in Art Watercolour Responses' to the artist @georgina.luck. We are sure you'll agree that they have captured her style amazingly well.⠀ ⠀ #CBSArtTeam
