Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Pupils,

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the death of Penny Parker, our Chair of Governors, on Friday 29th June.  As you may know, Penny has been the Chair of the Governing Body, initially for Coombe Girls’ School, and more recently for the Coombe Federation for the last 11 years and during this time played a hugely significant role in the lives of both Coombe schools.

Penny’s first association with the girls’ school began over 20 years ago when her daughter started at Coombe and, whilst her daughter was at the school she was an active member and eventual Chair of the PFA, before joining the governing body.  Penny’s wisdom, intuition, knowledge of LA governance, attention to detail and financial acumen have greatly contributed to the schools’ successes over the years and her personality and influence will be sadly missed by the whole Coombe community.

We plan to celebrate Penny’s contribution to the Coombe Schools at an event during the Autumn Term and in the meantime if you would like to contribute to a book of condolence please come into school or email your message to the enquiries address enquiries@cbs.rbksch.org
