🎉 Six of our Year 8 students went up against 50+ students in the final of the Modern Languages Poetry Live competition at St Mary's University this week! 🏆 Huge congrats to Yusuf, who was awarded Gold Winner in the Spanish category. ¡Enhorabuena, Yusuf! Our new cohort of year 7 boys are invited to join us for the PFA Coombe Quest - Labyrinth of Challenges at 6pm on the evening of 1st July. It is Refugee Week so we have chosen fantastic and inspiring #BOTW reads to help us empathise with others.⠀ ⠀ 📙 KS3: The Crossing by @manjeet_k_mann ⠀ A verse novel telling the story of two teenagers from opposite worlds divided by geography but united by grief, tragedy and ultimately hope. Incredibly powerful and profound.⠀ ⠀ 📘 KS4: Seven Million Sunflowers by @malcolm.duffy ⠀ A compelling and moving story that describes all the dificulties a young Ukranian teenager faces when escaping the war and having to live a 'normal' life while having loved ones in danger every day.
